An 12th-century Chola-era temple on the banks of Ulsoor Lake, dedicated to Shiva and considered one of the oldest surviving structures in Bengaluru, predating the city's founding by Kempe Gowda by several centuries. Its Dravidian-style architecture and intricate stone carvings reflect South Indian temple traditions from the Chola and later Vijayanagara periods. The temple remains an active place of worship for the local community. Its lakeside setting makes it a quieter counterpart to Bengaluru's more prominent civic heritage sites.
